What will fill that vacant space on Main Street? With buildings
razed, no plan yet in place Now that the Waunakee Auto
Body and other properties along Main and Madison streets have
been demolished, some members of the Waunakee Development
Advisory Committee area asking what will take their place.
Charges sought in teen party case The Dane County
Sheriffs Department has wrapped up its investigation into
an underage drinking party that occurred near the end of
September.
Library open house slated The next library ad hoc
committee meeting will be an open house Nov. 28 from 7-9 p.m. at
the Waunakee Community High School Commons.
Two Waunakee students killed in crash Friends, family and
classmates are working through grief after losing two Waunakee
Community High School students in a car crash Nov. 10.
Pub transforms Main St. corner One of Waunakees
longtime businessman is adding a new venture in the form of

After the Tribune went to press Tuesday, the Waunakee library ad
hoc site selection committee met and canceled its Dec. 4 meeting.
After learning of a fourth site to study for a possible library
location, the committee relaxed the timeline for a referendum, so
it will not be held in February.
Sports:
Warriors to take to the pool at state There were no
medals, no great celebrations, but that doesnt mean that
qualifying for state wasnt a great experience.
Warriors capture conference again Version 2007 of the
Waunakee Warriors football team didnt end on the note they
wanted it to, but according to Coach Pat Rice, that far from
defines the season.
WRAT swimmers race at Oregon Thirty WRAT swimmers competed
at the Oregon Fall Open held at the Middleton High School Pool on
Nov. 10.
Spikers close out fabulous season There is a little part
in the back of Anne Denkerts head that wonders what might
have been. Her volleyball Warriors had a great season, no doubt,
but injuries and illnesses put up roadblocks in the middle of
their 23-8 campaign.
Obituaries
Sierra J. Bongiovani, age 17, died on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007,
following an automobile accident. She was born on Jan. 17, 1990,
in Madiosn, the daughter of David (Larson) and Rose Bongiovani.
Elizabeth Betty Heim of Waunakee, Wis., died
peacefully in her sleep at home on Nov. 9, 2007. Betty was born
in Waunakee to Julius and Anna Diederich on Nov. 20, 1822.
Rita Herbrand, age 82, of Waunakee, died on Wednesday, Nov. 7,
2007, at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born on
July 10, 1925, in Waunakee to William and Helen (Riphahn) Nellen.
Janet Cecilia (Endres) Gilbertson age 64, of Madison, loving
wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away unexpectedly at
her home on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007. Janet was born in Columbus,
Wis., on Nov. 9, 1943, the daughter of Louise Endres.
